

PEACEMAKING — FOR MEDIATION
The term “peacemaking” is used in several different ways in modern literature and dispute resolution.
According to the UN, peacemaking is "action to bring hostile parties to agreement, essentially through such peaceful means.”
Peacemaking is the diplomatic effort intended to move a violent conflict into nonviolent dialogue.
The objective for REAL TALK is to find our “peace points” where we agree and focus on the solutions to the problems where we disagree.
Peacemaking can be done through negotiation, mediation, conciliation, arbitration, or private settlement consultations.

Just like in most sporting matches, sometimes it just takes a neutral third person or “referee” to help both sides get to a reasonable outcome or find an “outside the box” solution. When two or more people are in conflict, there is a reason it hasn’t been resolved. Sometimes the emotions are too high, somethings a misunderstanding, sometimes it’s a cultural difference or simply different views of business practices and the law.
REAL TALK allows the parties a safe space to be heard, to work through the conflict, to separate emotions from facts, channel communications, improve understanding, invite brainstorming and identify signposts to a resolution. We do not decide the case for you (like an arbitrator or judge) or act as detectives for the parties or advocate for either side (like an attorney).
